  • Mohave County Medical Examiner officially rules reality star’s death a suicide.
  • Investigation into targeted cyberbullying allegations remains active and ongoing.

The investigation into the death of Storage Wars veteran Darrell Sheets has taken a critical turn as the Lake Havasu City Police Department begins a forensic analysis of his mobile phone.

This development follows a Tuesday ruling from the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office, which officially classified the 67-year-old’s death as a suicide.

Sheets, known to fans as "The Gambler," was found deceased at his Arizona residence on April 22 with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

While the cause of death has been established, authorities are now focusing heavily on claims that Sheets was the victim of targeted cyberbullying.

Castmate Rene Nezhoda brought these allegations to light, stating that Sheets had been "tormented" by an individual in the weeks leading up to the tragedy.

"Our agency continues to actively investigate allegations of cyberbullying associated with this case," the police department said in a statement.

They noted that the forensic examination of his device is an "essential" step in identifying potential suspects or motivations. The news has devastated the reality television community, where Sheets was a staple for thirteen seasons.

His son, Brandon Sheets, who appeared alongside him on the A&E series for several years, shared a poignant tribute on social media, vowing to live in his father's honour.

Castmates such as Brandi Passante and Mary Padian have also expressed their heartbreak. As the Criminal Investigations Unit awaits toxicology and digital results, the focus remains on whether online harassment played a role in the star’s final days.

Previously, Sheets had faced health challenges, including a major heart attack in 2019, but had remained active in the buy-and-sell culture of Lake Havasu City.
