Book claims Prince Andrew kicked his dog at royal gathering

Former British royal Prince Andrew kicked his Labrador in the head during a pheasant shoot at the Sandringham estate, according to a newly updated book set for release later this month.

Author Andrew Lownie, in an updated edition of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, describes an incident in which Andrew's dog snatched a guest's sausage roll, prompting Andrew to kick the animal and leave it whimpering on the ground.

When the guest called the behavior "disgusting," Andrew reportedly told him to mind his own business.

The book claims Prince Philip later privately sided with the guest, telling him that both he and Queen Elizabeth agreed Andrew "needs a good scolding from time to time."

Buckingham Palace declined to comment. Andrew's representatives did not respond to a request for comment.

The incident adds to a difficult period for Andrew, who was stripped of his royal titles in October 2025 and removed from Royal Lodge amid renewed scrutiny over his ties to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, currently care for Queen Elizabeth's two surviving corgis, Muick and Sandy, which the couple gifted to her as puppies.
