Kate Cassidy admits she compares every man to late boyfriend Liam Payne
The influencer admitted she struggles to find anyone who matches her late boyfriend
Kate Cassidy has said she still finds herself comparing other men to her late boyfriend Liam Payne, admitting that no one she has met since his death comes close to the relationship she once had with him.
The 27-year-old influencer, who dated the former One Direction star for two years before his death in 2024 at the age of 31 following a fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina, reflected on her ongoing grief and the difficulty of moving forward romantically.
Speaking in a TikTok post, Cassidy said she often finds herself measuring new people against Payne’s personality and character.
“I compare literally everyone to my late partner,” she said. “He kind of hit every single box on the checklist — f****** hot, funny, kind and generous.”
She also recalled a recent dating experience that left her disappointed, saying she was “icked out” after a man she went out with made his friend pay her own bill, contrasting the moment with how Payne would have handled similar situations.
“Liam never did that, ever,” she added. “Some of these men are like pulling teeth.”
Cassidy has been open about her grief journey since Payne’s death, previously sharing that she is beginning to consider dating again, though she admits the process is emotionally complex.
In an earlier Instagram video, she said she feels ready to “start dating again” while acknowledging that love after loss is a significant and uncertain chapter in her life.
She explained that while she hopes to build a future family one day, Payne will always remain an important part of her life.
“I will always love Liam and that will never change,” she said, adding that she expects to think about him even on her wedding day.
Cassidy has also addressed online criticism from trolls who have urged her to move on, pushing back against the idea that she should stop speaking about her late boyfriend.
She said Payne was not just a public figure to her, but someone she deeply loved and considered her best friend and life partner.
“When a person dies, they die twice — once when they actually die and the second time when you stop speaking about them,” she said, adding that she intends to keep his memory alive in her life.
