Ariana Grande has offered fans a behind-the-scenes look at her creative process, calling time spent in the studio “the most magical thing” as she prepares for the release of her upcoming album Petal.

The 32-year-old singer shared reflections on Instagram, where she posted a video from the making of her lead single hate that i made you love me, giving fans a glimpse into the early stages of the project.

Grande revealed that the recording session marked the beginning of work on her eighth studio album, describing it as a deeply inspiring moment in her creative journey.

“My very first melody pass for hate that i made you love me … !” she wrote. “Days like this are the most magical thing in the world to me.”

The Grammy-winning artist added that the studio process often becomes all-consuming, joking that the team “never slept again” after beginning work on the project.

Grande also expressed her passion for music-making, saying she “just loves making things” and thanking fans for their continued support as anticipation builds for the new album.

The upcoming record, titled Petal, will feature 12 tracks and marks her first full-length release in over a year. The album is scheduled to arrive on July 31, 2026.

The singer’s post comes as excitement grows among fans following the surprise announcement of the new project, which signals a fresh creative era for the pop star.
