John Travolta has thanked fans around the world after celebrating a major milestone for his directorial debut, Propeller One-Way Night Coach, which has reached the number one spot on Apple TV+ globally.

The 72-year-old actor shared a video message on Instagram on June 3, expressing gratitude to viewers as his semi-autobiographical film continued its strong streaming performance following its recent release.

“I’m very excited to say this is day seven of being No. 1 on Apple TV all around the world,” Travolta said, holding a model aircraft featured in the film.

“I want to thank each and every one of you in all the countries around the world for being so supportive.”

He added that the film’s success was driven entirely by audience support, thanking fans directly for helping it achieve its chart-topping position.

The project, which also stars Travolta and his daughter Ella Bleu Travolta, is based on his 1997 children’s book of the same name and draws inspiration from his first childhood flight.

The story follows 8-year-old Jeff in 1962 America, with Travolta also portraying an older version of the character.

The film premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival on May 15, where Travolta appeared alongside his daughter, who plays a flight attendant in the production.

Speaking about her performance in earlier interviews, Travolta praised her work, calling her emergence in the film a sign that “a star is born.”

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Travolta also reflected on receiving the Cannes Honorary Palme d’Or, describing the recognition as an unexpected and emotional moment.

He said festival director Thierry Frémaux had personally supported the project, leading to its selection and a special presentation at Cannes, an experience Travolta described as deeply moving.

The actor has also dedicated the film to his late wife Kelly Preston, his late son Jett Travolta, and his parents and siblings, saying the story was born from their influence and memory.

“I dedicated the film to Kelly, to my son Jett… because they are the model from which this film was born,” he previously said in an interview, adding that he wanted the film to reflect childhood innocence, hope, and resilience.
