Taylor Swift becomes first female musician to reach $2 billion fortune
The singer has become the highest-earning female musician in history with a reported $2 billion fortune
Taylor Swift has reached a new financial milestone, becoming the highest-earning female musician in history with an estimated net worth of $2 billion, according to Forbes.
The pop superstar was featured on the magazine’s Iconoclast 50 list, which highlights influential global figures, cementing her status as one of the most commercially successful artists of all time.
Swift’s billionaire status has been driven largely by the unprecedented success of her Eras Tour, which spanned 149 shows across 51 cities and five continents.
The tour reportedly generated around $2.2 billion in revenue, making it the highest-grossing concert tour in history.
Beyond touring, Swift’s financial and artistic legacy was also reshaped in 2025 when she regained ownership of her original master recordings for an estimated $360 million.
The move followed years of public disputes over control of her early catalog, previously owned by music executive Scooter Braun.
At the time, Swift described the moment as deeply emotional, reflecting on years of unsuccessful attempts to reclaim her work.
“I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away,” she wrote in a message to fans. “All the times I was this close… it’s all in the past now.”
She added that she was finally able to fully take ownership of her creative output, saying, “All of the music I've ever made now belongs to me.”
Swift’s career has also been defined by her decision to re-record her early albums in an effort to regain control of her masters, a move widely credited with reshaping industry conversations around artists’ rights and ownership.
