Xolo Maridueña has shared high praise for his Practical Magic 2 co-stars Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, calling them “legends” who “lead by example” while reflecting on his experience filming the upcoming sequel.

Speaking exclusively to People during the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, the 25-year-old actor said he felt warmly welcomed into the cast while working on the highly anticipated follow-up to the 1998 cult classic Practical Magic.

Maridueña said the chemistry among the cast stood out from the beginning, adding that the experience left a lasting impression on him.

“The chemistry that the whole cast has, I wanted to bottle it up and hold it forever,” he said. “Everyone was so kind. It was my first time filming abroad, we were in London.”

He added that Kidman, Bullock, and the wider Practical Magic ensemble made him feel immediately included on set.

“Sandra and Nicole and the whole Practical Magic family totally welcomed me in,” he said. “I was so happy to be there.”

Maridueña described the experience as a highlight of his early career, noting how meaningful it was to work alongside actors he deeply respects.

“I have been really blessed in some of the folk that I’ve gotten to work with thus far — Nicole, Sandra, two legends that totally lead by example. Class acts,” he said.

The sequel continues the story of a multigenerational family of witches attempting to break a centuries-old curse.

While specific details about Maridueña’s role remain limited, the film follows the next generation of the Owens family and their evolving magical legacy.

Maridueña also spoke about working with veteran actor Al Pacino in a separate project, saying he was grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with some of the industry’s most respected names.

“I couldn’t have dreamt of getting to work with him,” he said, adding that his focus remains on the collaborative nature of filmmaking rather than celebrity status.

He emphasized that his most meaningful experiences come from the people he works with rather than the size of the role.

“It’s less about type of role or what the face of the role has, and the people that are making it,” he said.

Practical Magic 2 is scheduled to premiere in theaters on September 11.
