Khloé Kardashian’s ex James Harden arrested on weapons charge in Texas
The Cleveland Cavaliers confirmed they are aware of James Harden’s arrest and are monitoring the situation
James Harden, the former partner of Khloé Kardashian, has been arrested in Texas on a misdemeanor weapons charge following a traffic stop, authorities confirmed.
The 36-year-old NBA star, who currently plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, was taken into custody on Saturday, June 13, after police reportedly found him carrying a handgun outside of a holster inside his vehicle.
According to a charging document filed by the Harris County District Attorney's Office and obtained by People, Harden was cited for unlawfully carrying a weapon in plain view during the stop.
Officials said the incident occurred when law enforcement pulled over his vehicle and discovered the firearm placement inside the car.
Harden was released shortly after his arrest on a $100 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 22.
In response to the incident, the Cleveland Cavaliers issued a brief statement saying the organization is aware of the arrest and is gathering further information.
“We are in contact with James and his representation and will continue to monitor developments,” the team said. “At this time, we will have no further comment.”
Harden’s arrest has drawn renewed public attention due to his previous high-profile relationship with Khloé Kardashian, which lasted from 2015 to 2016.
The pair’s breakup later made headlines, with Kardashian previously citing issues related to infidelity, while Harden later said the relationship was affected by the pressures of public attention and fame.
Authorities have not indicated any additional charges at this time, and the case remains under review ahead of his upcoming court date.
