Jennifer Lopez reveals the personal wake-up call she had after divorce from Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez has opened up about the personal journey she went through after her divorce from Ben Affleck, revealing that she realized she needed to focus on herself rather than blame others.
The 56-year-old singer and actress reflected on her life after her marriage to Affleck ended, telling herself she needed to “figure yourself out” and understand what changes she needed to make.
Lopez and Affleck separated in April 2024 after two years of marriage, with Lopez filing for divorce four months later. Their divorce was finalized in January 2025.
During an appearance on the SmartLess podcast, Lopez admitted that there have been moments in her life when everything seemed to fall apart and forced her to look inward.
The On the Floor singer explained that she believes some experiences came from choices she made, as well as personal patterns she needed to recognize and change.
Lopez said that after her divorce, she canceled her tour and spent time reflecting on herself, realizing she needed to take responsibility for her own growth.
She shared that instead of focusing on others, she reached a point where she had to ask herself what was happening in her life and what she needed to change.
The actress, who has previously been married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony, said she now sees her life differently after going through years of challenges.
Lopez described the past several years as a period of major change, saying she spent the last two years focusing on healing and truly getting to know herself.
She added that she feels like a completely different person compared to where she was two years ago and is now able to appreciate her life and the things she has created.
Earlier this month, Lopez also addressed questions about her dating life and revealed she is not looking for romance through social media.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Lopez said she does not check her direct messages and joked that anyone genuinely interested in finding her would have to make more effort than sending an Instagram message.
Lopez was also asked about romance rumors involving her Brett Goldstein co-star from Office Romance.
Both stars denied speculation that they are dating, confirming that their relationship is only professional.
