Kim Kardashian gives Will Ferrell a crash course in selfies
Kim Kardashian, Will Ferrell teamed up for a comedy skit promoting Ferrell's new series
Kim Kardashian gave Will Ferrell a lesson in taking the perfect selfie as the pair teamed up for a comedic social media skit promoting his upcoming Netflix series The Hawk.
The reality star and entrepreneur shared an Instagram Reel on June 16 showing Ferrell seeking advice on how to improve his selfie game while staying in character as Lonnie "The Hawk" Hawkins, the lead character in his new comedy series.
Kim Kardashian shares her selfie secrets
The clip opened with Kardashian asking Ferrell if he knew his “good side.”
“I don't know … does anyone have a good side?” the actor replied.
Kardashian then demonstrated her technique, turning the camera toward herself as audience-cheering audio played in the background.
“Chin down, a little out … find your good side,” she instructed, prompting Ferrell to respond, “God, you look fantastic!”
After attempting another selfie, Ferrell asked whether the shot looked good. Kardashian jokingly suggested he should “add a filter.”
Will Ferrell embraces dramatic filter transformation
The actor then applied a heavy Instagram filter that smoothed his skin and altered his facial features.
“Oh my god, I look amazing! I'm gorgeous. That's top-notch,” Ferrell joked while admiring the transformed image.
The playful exchange appeared to serve as a promotional campaign for The Hawk, Netflix's upcoming 10-episode comedy series, which stars Ferrell as a washed-up golfer attempting to revive his career.
New character account launches ahead of The Hawk
As part of the promotion, Ferrell launched an Instagram account for his character under the handle @lonniethehawk.
The account's bio describes Hawkins as a former world No. 1 golfer, fashion designer, poet and “lover,” while encouraging followers to “Fly with The Hawk.”
The Kardashian collaboration became the account's first and only post, quickly attracting hundreds of thousands of likes and comments.
Kardashian family joins the fun
Several members of Kardashian's famous family reacted to the clip, including Khloé Kardashian, who commented, “I love this man.”
Family matriarch Kris Jenner responded with a string of laughing emojis.
Ferrell has long maintained a distance from social media. The actor previously deleted his Facebook account in 2018 despite having more than 10 million followers, explaining at the time that he had “always had an aversion to social media.”
'The Hawk' set for July premiere
While Ferrell rarely uses personal social media platforms, the actor appears willing to make an exception for Lonnie Hawkins.
Netflix's The Hawk is scheduled to premiere on July 16, with the Kardashian collaboration serving as an early glimpse into the character's offbeat personality and promotional campaign.
