Priyanka Chopra reveals Nick Jonas' unusual first text request
Couple revisited their first text exchange on a podcast
Priyanka Chopra confessed that Nick Jonas asked for proof he was actually texting her during their first message exchange before the couple began dating.
Appearing on the Hey Jonas podcast alongside Nick and his brothers, Kevin and Joe Jonas, Chopra looked back on how their relationship began and recalled her future husband's unusual request.
"I'll tell you what that first text was. He wanted to corroborate it was actually me," she said. "So he asked me for a photo — that moment — looking at the camera with a time stamp. I was like, 'That is so sus of me already.' But I appreciated it too."

Nick remembered the photo differently, suggesting it showed Chopra "with peanut butter or something."
The actress quickly corrected him.
"No, it was after a fashion show. I was cute that day," she said.
The exchange ultimately led to the couple continuing to text before taking the next step in their relationship.
"About a year and a half later we started dating and eventually got engaged," Nick recalled.
The pair married in December 2018 and welcomed daughter Malti in January 2022.

The podcast also revisited how the two first connected.
Nick said he decided to message Chopra after seeing her on a billboard promoting Quantico. Joe Jonas then read Nick's original direct message aloud.
"Hello, I've heard from a few people that we should meet. I have to agree with these people. Are you in L.A. anytime soon?"
Kevin Jonas followed by reading Chopra's reply.
"Hey, Graham's told me so much about you. Let's text. My team can access this."
The reading prompted laughter from the group, while Chopra admitted she felt a little embarrassed reliving the exchange.
The story comes weeks after Kevin recalled on the same podcast that he became sick while serving as Nick's wingman during his first date with Chopra.
"I wingmanned hard," Kevin said. "I wingmanned so hard I threw up in the bathroom and rallied."
Nick praised his brother's efforts, calling it "a pro move."
