Matt Damon stumbles over Zendaya's last name during game

Matt Damon appeared to draw a blank on Zendaya's last name during a light-hearted guessing game as the pair promoted The Odyssey with MTV UK.

The awkward moment came during a game of Who Even Am I?, in which Zendaya was trying to guess the identity of her Euphoria co-star Colman Domingo while Damon provided clues.

As she narrowed down her guesses, Zendaya asked, "Do we share a name?"

She then quickly added, "You might not know my last name."

Damon appeared unsure how to respond, pausing before saying, "Uhhhh..."

Pointing to a producer off-camera, Zendaya said, "Someone is saying yes. Is it Colman Domingo?"

Damon confirmed that her guess was correct, and the pair moved on without discussing his apparent hesitation.

Zendaya's full name is Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman.

Zendaya praises Colman Domingo

After correctly identifying Domingo, Zendaya described him as "one of my favorites" to work with.

"Please tell me he's great to work with," Damon said.

"He is the best. Kind, open," Zendaya replied.

She added that Domingo is one of her favourite scene partners because "there's just such a flow and ease" whenever they work together.

The actress also said she often worries about emotional scenes but never feels that pressure opposite Domingo.

"Any scene with him, it's easy. I've never had to even think about it. When I'm across from him, I don't know what he's giving me, what's going on."

Damon agreed, saying, "Great actors are good enough for both of you, right? When you have a scene partner like that, it's like riding a wave."

Elsewhere in the interview, Damon praised Zendaya's performance as Athena in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.

"Your job on this movie was deceptively difficult, because you had to parachute in for highly emotional scenes, without any chance to get into the rhythm of the time zone we were in," he said.

"To be able to show up from Euphoria, from a completely different world, into this world and carry these scenes — it's the reason Chris called you perfect."

Damon also praised Zendaya and her longtime partner and co-star, Tom Holland.

"You are extraordinary. I feel that way about you and your fella," he said. "I'm so happy that there's a generation coming behind us that are not only as talented, but as kind and as professional as you guys. You guys are wonderful."

The Odyssey is now playing in theatres.
