Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer achieves record 1.1 billion views

The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe instalment, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day", has made cinematic history after its trailer surpassed 1.1 billion views.

According to reports from Variety, citing data from WaveMetrix, the teaser released on 17 March 2026 is the first-ever film trailer to reach this milestone.

This follows an extraordinary launch period where the footage garnered 718.6 million views within its first twenty-four hours, comfortably eclipsing the previous record held by "Deadpool and Wolverine".

The film picks up immediately after the events of 2021's "No Way Home", focusing on Peter Parker’s struggle to navigate a world where his closest allies, including MJ and Ned, have no memory of his existence.

Producer Amy Pascal recently explained the narrative direction to Deadline, noting: "We have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker, and he was gonna focus on being Spider-Man."

Tom Holland returns as the titular hero, grappling with the emotional weight of his anonymity while facing new threats.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the production features an expansive cast including returning favourites Jon Favreau, Mark Ruffalo, and Jon Bernthal.

The film also introduces Sadie Sink and Tramell Tillman to the franchise. Michael Mando is also set to reprise his role as the antagonist Scorpion.

As fans eagerly anticipate the July 31st 2026 theatrical release, "Brand New Day" appears poised to challenge the commercial success of its predecessors.

This latest entry marks a significant expansion of the Spider-Man mythos as Holland enters his fourth solo outing within the Marvel universe.
