Demi Lovato eyes big comeback tour, says she’s ‘excited and nervous’

Demi Lovato is set to return to the stage with her highly anticipated "It's Not That Deep" tour, marking her first tour in four years.

The 33-year-old singer shared the update during a recent appearance at New York’s 92NY, where she spoke about entering what she described as a “celebratory” phase of her life and career.

“It’s really amazing to be in this era right now,” Lovato said, adding that her latest album reflects a happier, more fulfilled version of herself. “I’m happier than ever, and I wanted my music to reflect that.”

The It’s Not That Deep tour, set to kick off in April, marks a significant milestone for Lovato, who has previously been candid about the physical and emotional toll of life on the road.

Despite that, she expressed eagerness to reconnect with fans.

“I’m very, very excited and a little overwhelmed, a little nervous,” she admitted. “But I can’t wait to see everybody on the road.”

Fans can expect a blend of new material and familiar hits with the possibility of even unreleased music making its way into the setlist.

Among the tracks she’s most looking forward to performing is “Sorry to Myself,” a deeply personal song tied closely to her healing journey.

Lovato explained that the track aligns with themes from her cookbook, One Plate at a Time: Recipes for Finding Freedom with Food, which draws inspiration from her recovery from an eating disorder.

“I went through so much, and I kind of put myself through hell for a long time,” she said. “But it’s about taking charge and reclaiming the narrative.”

The singer previously revealed that the demands of touring once made her consider stepping away from it altogether, citing the strain it places on both body and mind. Still, the emotional payoff continues to draw her back.

“As hard as touring can be, it is so much fun,” Lovato said in a recent interview. “What I’m looking forward to is the connection with my fans — that moment when you see someone crying through a smile because they’re so happy to be there.”
