Jon Hamm reveals secret to happy marriage with Anna Osceola
The actor credits therapy and self-reflection for strengthening his relationship
Jon Hamm has opened up about what keeps his marriage to Anna Osceola strong, nearly three years after the couple tied the knot.
In a recent interview with Elle, while promoting the second season of Your Friends & Neighbors, the actor stated that the key to a successful relationship lies in effective communication, compromise, and a willingness to grow.
“Compromise and communication… it doesn’t come overnight,” Hamm said, reflecting on the lessons he’s learned over time.
The 55-year-old star admitted that building a healthy relationship required relearning key skills following the end of his long-term partnership with Jennifer Westfeldt in 2015 after 18 years together.
Hamm emphasized that maintaining a strong bond is an ongoing process, one that includes acknowledging mistakes and actively working to improve.
He also highlighted the role of therapy, including couples counseling, in strengthening relationships.
“It’s a practice that you have to get better at,” he explained, adding that growth often comes from asking difficult questions and being open to change.
The actor also noted that relationships shouldn’t be viewed as competitions, stressing that mutual understanding is key. “Two things can be true sometimes,” he said.
Hamm and Osceola married on June 24, 2023, in Big Sur, in a ceremony attended by close friends and fellow celebrities.
