Matthew Perry’s stepmother demands maximum sentence for Ketamine Queen

Debbie Perry, the stepmother of the late Friends star Matthew Perry, has issued a powerful plea for the maximum possible prison sentence for drug dealer Jasveen Sangha.

In a victim impact statement submitted to a federal judge on Tuesday, she described the "irreversible" devastation caused by the distribution network that supplied the actor with the fatal dose of ketamine.

"The pain you’ve caused to hundreds, maybe thousands, is irreversible," Debbie wrote, addressing Sangha directly. She further expressed the profound loss felt by the family, stating, "There is no joy… No light in the window. They won’t be back."

The statement was delivered just one day before Sangha, known as the "Ketamine Queen," was due to be sentenced in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday.

Prosecutors have requested a 15-year prison term, arguing that Sangha operated a high-end drug enterprise that took advantage of vulnerable individuals.

Conversely, the defence has requested time served, citing Sangha’s lack of a prior criminal record. Authorities allege that Sangha sold Perry 25 vials of ketamine in the weeks leading up to his death on 28 October 2023. An autopsy confirmed the 54-year-old actor died from the acute effects of the drug.

Debbie Perry concluded her remarks by urging the court to ensure the defendant could never harm another family.

"Please give this heartless woman the maximum prison sentence so she won’t be able to hurt other families like ours," she pleaded.

Sangha is the final defendant to be sentenced in the case, following the earlier sentencing of Dr Salvador Plasencia to 30 months in prison.
