Shakira lights up Rio with massive beach show during world tour
The concert is part of her ongoing Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour
Shakira drew a massive crowd in Rio de Janeiro over the weekend, delivering a high-energy free concert that turned Copacabana Beach into a sea of fans.
The global pop star performed on Saturday, May 2, as part of her ongoing Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour, attracting an estimated two million attendees, according to city officials.
The show marked a return to the Brazilian city where she first launched the tour in February 2025.
Despite starting nearly an hour later than scheduled, the concert began to roaring applause, with fans filling the iconic beachfront and welcoming the singer with unwavering enthusiasm.
During the performance, Shakira reflected on her long-standing connection with Brazil, recalling her early days as an aspiring artist.
“I arrived here when I was 18 years old, dreaming about singing for you. And now look at this. Life is magical,” she told the crowd.
The setlist featured some of her biggest hits, including Hips Don’t Lie, La Tortura and La Bicicleta, keeping the audience energized throughout the night.
The concert forms part of Shakira’s seventh global tour, which has drawn significant international attention since its launch.
Following the Rio performance, the singer is set to resume the next leg of the tour on June 13, 2026, at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
