Sydney man faces court for triple murder and attempted murder of family
Emergency services discovered a "grisly crime scene" at a Rosemeadow residence early Sunday morning
A 32-year-old man, identified as Jacky Feng, has been charged with three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder following a violent family attack in Sydney’s southwest.
New South Wales (NSW) Police were called to a residence in Rosemeadow around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, after a 30-year-old family member made a desperate call to emergency services.
Upon arrival, officers were met with what Campbelltown City Police Area Command Superintendent Grant Healey described as a "very grisly crime scene."
Inside the home and an adjacent granny flat, police discovered the bodies of 65-year-old Ruvena Lam and her 25-year-old son, Justin Feng.
A 64-year-old man, identified as the father, Zhou Chao Feng, was found alive but suffering from critical blunt-force head injuries; he tragically passed away shortly after being rushed to the hospital.
The 30-year-old caller survived the encounter with injuries. Investigators believe Jacky Feng utilised multiple weapons during the assault, including a bladed weapon.
Jacky Feng was arrested approximately an hour after the initial call when he returned to the scene in a silver sedan.
Superintendent Healey noted that the family was not previously known to police and there were no documented histories of domestic violence, making the incident particularly difficult to predict.
The Campbelltown City Police Area Command is currently leading the investigation with support from the Homicide Squad. Following a refusal of bail, the suspect is scheduled to appear before a court today.
