'Popeye The Slayer Man 2' underway as Daniel Baldwin joins cast
'Popeye the Slayer Man 2' is jointly produced by Salem House Films, Millman Productions
Popeye The Slayer Man 2, the follow-up to last year's public domain horror, has started filming in upstate New York with new cast members like Daniel Baldwin (Homicide: Life on the Street) and Avaryana Rose (The Caretaker).
The movie follows the famous sailor, Popeye, who, after consuming tainted spinach in the first film, turns into a deranged killer.
With his home destroyed, he goes on a rampage seeking revenge, while the police close in and separated family members attempt to reach what’s left of him. A sneak peek is shared below.
“This sequel is bigger with more blood and chaos than the first one. More deaths and guts, plus greater backstory for Popeye,” said producer Jeff Miller. “Fans of the original won’t be let down, and we think we’ll attract new fans with this release.”
Popeye the Slayer Man 2 features returning actors Sean Michael Conway, Elena Juliano, Sarah Nicklin, Nathan Todaro, and Jason Stephens as the lead.
Baldwin is set to portray the town's mayor, while Rose, who established the anti-cyber-bullying initiative Babes Against Bullying, plays his daughter. Other newcomers include Chelsea Gilson, Mia Rose, Derek Poole, and Jesse Wakeman.
Robert Michael Ryan is back to direct a script by John Doolan (Remains). Jeff Miller (The Toybox), Cuyle Carvin (Ouija Witch), and Ryan also participated in the storyline.
Producers, alongside Miller, Carvin, and Ryan, are Alexander Tucker and Nathan Todaro. Executive producers include Brandon Gibbs, Dustin Knoop, Korey Rowe, and Ronnie D. Lee. Co-producers include Alysa Blasetti and Dylan Avery.
Korey Rowe is the director of photography. R.J. Young leads the special makeup effects. Andrew Mulligan is in charge of props. Heather Sharpe manages the wardrobe.
Popeye the Slayer Man 2 is jointly produced by Salem House Films, Millman Productions, Cloud 9 Productions, Babe Entertainment, Ron Lee Productions, and Otsego Media.
