An online debate has erupted following a now-viral encounter between reality television star Kim Kardashian and Sky Sports Formula 1 presenter Martin Brundle at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Kim was present at the prestigious street circuit race alongside her sister Khloé Kardashian, widely understood to be there in support of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, with whom she has been romantically linked in recent months.

The grid walk encounter

During his well-known pre-race grid walk segment, Brundle made his way over to Kim, introduced himself, and enquired whether she was enjoying the race weekend.

However, Kim offered only a brief smile in response and made no verbal reply, continuing her conversation with Khloé as members of her security team gathered closely around the pair.

The situation grew increasingly uncomfortable when Brundle appeared to come into conflict with Kim's security personnel as he attempted to press on with the interview.

Eventually conceding defeat, the veteran broadcaster acknowledged on air that the sisters were "not talking today."

Reaction online

The clip spread rapidly across social media, with a significant number of users condemning Kim's conduct during the exchange, labelling it "rude" and "disrespectful."

Others, however, came to the reality star's defence. Several commenters argued she was under no obligation whatsoever to engage with media at the event, and that the noise levels on the grid may well have prevented her from hearing Brundle clearly.

Hamilton connection

Kim's attendance at the Grand Prix has renewed interest in speculation that first surfaced months ago regarding a possible romantic relationship between her and Hamilton. To date, neither Kim nor the British racing driver has made any public statement confirming the nature of their connection.
