Brooklyn Beckham appears to reference family rift in new ad
Brooklyn Beckham fuels fresh speculation about his ongoing estrangement from his family
Brooklyn Beckham seemingly alluded to his highly publicised family feud in a new advertising campaign, days after fresh attention was drawn to tensions between him and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.
The 27-year-old entrepreneur and social media personality appeared in a DoorDash advertisement posted to Instagram on Monday, where he joked about watching the 2026 FIFA World Cup from home rather than attending the tournament in person.
“You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home,” Brooklyn says in the video while sitting on a sofa.
“It’s a long story,” he adds with a laugh before tossing a pair of World Cup tickets onto a coffee table.
The advertisement then cuts to a message reading, “It’s complicated. More soon,” as Brooklyn leaves the room. He further fuelled speculation by captioning the post simply: “Long story.”
Fans Connect Ad to Ongoing Beckham Family Tensions
The video quickly prompted reactions from followers, many of whom interpreted the messaging as a reference to Brooklyn’s strained relationship with members of his family.
Some social media users criticised what they perceived as a public dig at his relatives, while others praised the light-hearted tone of the advertisement.
The campaign arrives amid continued scrutiny surrounding Brooklyn’s relationship with his parents, former football star David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, as well as his siblings.
Sister Harper’s Surprise Visit Draws Attention
The advertisement was released just days after Brooklyn’s younger sister, Harper Beckham, was photographed arriving at his Beverly Hills home.
The 14-year-old was seen outside the property shortly after attending David Beckham’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in Los Angeles. According to reports, Harper left moments later without seeing her brother.
A source told Page Six that Harper’s visit was unannounced and that neither Brooklyn nor his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, were at home when she arrived.
Brooklyn later indicated on social media that he had been in New York at the time.
Representatives for Brooklyn and Nicola subsequently questioned the circumstances surrounding the visit, suggesting it had been orchestrated for publicity.
“That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all — this was choreographed for the cameras,” a representative for the couple said.
However, a source close to David and Victoria Beckham rejected that suggestion, describing the claim as “clearly nonsense.”
Family Rift Has Continued Since 2022 Wedding
Speculation about tensions within the Beckham family has persisted since Brooklyn’s 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz.
Reports of disagreements surrounding the ceremony were followed by years of rumours about strained relationships between various family members.
Earlier this year, Brooklyn publicly addressed the situation, making some of his strongest comments yet about the family divide.
In January, he stated that he did not wish to reconcile with his family and accused his parents of attempting to shape public narratives about their personal relationships.
“I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” Brooklyn said at the time.
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family [with] performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships.”
He continued: “Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.”
New Ad Adds to Public Interest
While Brooklyn does not directly mention his family in the DoorDash campaign, the timing and wording have led many observers to draw connections between the advertisement and the ongoing family dispute.
Neither David nor Victoria Beckham has publicly responded to the latest advertisement.
As public interest in the Beckham family dynamics continues, Brooklyn’s brief “It’s complicated” message has only added to speculation about whether the long-running rift shows any sign of easing.
