Sean Combs’ prison release date changes again following conviction and sentencing
The music executive remains incarcerated after being convicted on prostitution-related charges
Sean Combs has reportedly been given a revised prison release date, marking another change in the timeline for the disgraced hip-hop mogul’s incarceration.
The 50-year-old artist, widely known as “Diddy,” is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
He was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges following an eight-week trial, but was found guilty on prostitution-related offences in July 2025.
Combs has been behind bars since his arrest in September 2024.
His release date has shifted multiple times, moving from an initial projection in mid-2028 to June 4, 2028, then to April 25, 2028, and now reportedly to February 23, 2028, according to People.
During his time in custody, Combs was transferred from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey on October 30.
The facility is considered lower security and is reported to offer improved conditions as well as access to rehabilitation programs, which his legal team had requested.
His representatives have previously stated that Combs is taking his sobriety seriously while incarcerated, dismissing claims that he had been involved in any prohibited alcohol use in prison.
The case has also drawn political attention, with reports indicating that US President Donald Trump acknowledged receiving a pardon request from Combs.
However, Trump has indicated that he is not currently considering granting clemency.
According to reports, Trump said Combs had sent a letter requesting a pardon but suggested he was not inclined to act on it, referencing past tensions between the two.
Combs’ conviction and ongoing imprisonment continue to mark a significant fall from grace for one of the most influential figures in hip-hop and music industry history.
