Princess Eugenie praises husband Jack Brooksbank as 'best there is' on Father's Day

Princess Eugenie, 35, has shared a rare glimpse into her family life on Father's Day, posting two candid photographs of her husband Jack Brooksbank, 40, with their sons August, four, and Ernest, two, on Instagram. The images captured Jack walking hand in hand with both boys on a sunny outing and crouching beside one of his sons in a church pew during a wedding, surrounded by colouring books, football-themed stickers and toys.

"Happy Father's Day to the best there is.. chief child entertainer for besties wedding too," Eugenie wrote alongside the post. "The boys couldn't ask for a better Dada."

A private family life

Eugenie and Jack have long been among the more private members of the extended Royal Family, making such candid posts a relatively rare treat for royal watchers. The couple welcomed their first son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, in February 2021, followed by Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank in May 2023. Eugenie has occasionally shared carefully chosen family moments on social media, typically to mark milestones and special occasions.

How Eugenie and Jack met

The couple's relationship began during a skiing holiday in Switzerland in 2010, when Eugenie was 20 and Jack was 24. Following their engagement announcement in January 2018, Eugenie told the BBC: "We met when I was 20 and Jack was 24, and fell in love." They married later that year at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. More than fifteen years after first meeting, the couple continue to balance royal commitments, careers and family life — with Jack's role as a devoted father, by Eugenie's account, remaining his most valued.
