Lexi Minetree praises Reese Witherspoon's support on 'Elle'
The Elle star praised Reese Witherspoon for her warmth and guidance as she prepared to lead the iconic role
Lexi Minetree has admitted she initially felt "very intimidated" by Reese Witherspoon before stepping into the iconic role of Elle Woods for Amazon Prime's upcoming prequel series, Elle.
The 25-year-old actress said taking over a character so closely associated with Witherspoon was daunting, but those nerves quickly disappeared after they met.
Speaking to the Hindustan Times, Minetree described the Oscar winner as warm, supportive and always willing to offer advice.
"She just has such a warm presence," Minetree said, adding that Witherspoon has remained only "one voice memo away" whenever she needs guidance.
Despite drawing inspiration from the original Legally Blonde star, Minetree said she deliberately avoided trying to imitate her performance.
Instead, she wanted to create an authentic version of Elle Woods that would feel fresh while still honouring the beloved character.
The actress also revealed that filming the second season before the first has even premiered allowed the cast to enjoy a unique experience together before audiences see the series.
Earlier this year, Witherspoon encouraged Minetree to embrace the responsibility of portraying a character who has inspired generations of young fans.
