The News International reported that Beckham expressed pride in the European side following the final match. Writing on his social media account, Beckham described Spain as world champions and congratulated the team on completing a perfect tournament.

Spain maintained control throughout the match, preventing Argentina from recording a single shot on target. Beckham watched the final from the stands alongside his wife, Victoria Beckham, and their sons Romeo and Cruz. Cruz's girlfriend Jackie Apostel and Romeo's girlfriend Kim Turnbull were also present at the venue.
