'Silence of the Lambs' star Anthony Hopkins praises co-star Jodie Foster: 'very practical'
Anthony Hopkins recalled working with Jodie Foster over three decades ago

Anthony Hopkins talked about working with his co-star Jodie Foster from The Silence of the Limbs.
In an interview with PEOPLE, the Oscar winner fondly recalled working with Foster over three decades ago, praising her as a 'lovely' and 'practical' actor who approaches her work with a refreshing lack of entourage.
He said, "What's wonderful about Jodie is that, great actor that she is, she has no entourage. She just comes on the set and does it. Very laid back. Very cool. What I like about her, she's very practical."

The two actors starred in the 1991 thriller that became a massive success, earning Hopkins an Academy Award for Best Actor and Foster for Best Actress.
Hopkins described Foster's down-to-earth demeanor on set, emphasizing her simplicity and laid-back attitude, which stood out in the often glamorous world of Hollywood.
Reflecting on their iconic roles as Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling, Hopkins highlighted the unique bond they developed during the making of the film.
"It's a life-changing adventure, that movie, for both of us, I'm sure you still get people who come up to you and say, 'Would you like a nice Chianti?'" he said.
Despite not having seen each other since a virtual reunion in 2021, where they celebrated the movie's 30th anniversary, Hopkins expressed deep respect for Foster's approach to acting.
He appreciated her 'healthy cynicism' and remembered an amusing anecdote from another actor, Robert Mitchum, who once said that acting 'beats work.'
