Jennifer Lopez collaborates with Metal to produce 'Bob the Builder' animated film
Anthony Ramos is set to feature in the lead role of Jennifer Lopez produce, 'Bob the Builder' film
Jennifer Lopez is set to produce the animated movie adaptation of Bob the Builder in partnership with Mattel and the talented Anthony Ramos is slated to take on the starring role.
As per Variety, the official logline suggested that viewers will take “on issues affecting the island and digs deeper into what it means to build. Bob’s journey will celebrate the vibrant and colourful textures of the Caribbean Latin nations and their people.”
Felipe Vargas has linked to pen the screenplay, while the announcement of the director for the project is still pending.
The President of Mattel Films, Robbie Brenner, said, “Pairing Anthony and Felipe’s genius vision for the story will capture this beloved character in a manner that audiences who grew up with Bob will recognize, and all-new audiences will enjoy.”
Ramos emphasized that Bob the Builder brings a significant message to the cinematic stage, noting that certain aspects of the movie draw inspiration from his personal experiences.
He said, “For years, Bob the Builder’s characters have inspired young people around the world,” adding, “A movie about friends working together, a celebration of a beautiful home they share, and how love can help to conquer any obstacle in your way. Can we fix it? Yes, we can!”

Ramos, along with Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico from ShadowMachine, will take on the role of producers for Bob the Builder.
Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina, representing Lopez's Nuyorican Productions, will also contribute as producers.
The project is supervised by Kevin McKeon, Ivan Sanchez, and Arturo Thur De Koós from Mattel, along with Natalie Haack Flores from Nuyorican.
Goldsmith-Thomas shared, “The show’s ability to promote positive thinking, problem-solving and empowerment with a completely original story set in Puerto Rico puts a new spin on a beloved brand,” adding, “We can’t wait for new and existing fans to connect with these amazing characters.”
