Bebe Rexha opens up about overcoming anxiety and embracing confidence
The pop star enters a new era ahead of her upcoming album release
Bebe Rexha has embraced a new chapter in her life and career, revealing she feels more confident than ever after years of battling self-doubt and anxiety.
The 36-year-old pop star, who is set to release her upcoming album Dirty Blonde in June, opened up about her personal growth and evolving mindset.
Speaking in a recent interview with US Weekly, Rexha said her confidence now comes from no longer seeking validation from others.
“I used to be so nervous,” she shared, recalling earlier experiences on red carpets where comparisons to others fueled anxiety. “Now I come and I’m just like, ‘I actually belong here.’”
Rexha credited her transformation to a shift in perspective, letting go of external pressures and embracing her individuality.
She also pointed to fellow artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Zara Larsson, and Charli XCX as inspirations, praising them for carving out their own identities in the music industry.
Beyond confidence, the singer said she is also in a happier place professionally. After transitioning to an independent artist, Rexha described a renewed sense of freedom and support in her environment.
“I feel amazing, honestly. I’m happy, finally,” she said, adding that being surrounded by people who genuinely care has made a significant difference.
Earlier this year, Rexha released New Religion, a high-energy dance track featuring Faithless.
The song holds personal meaning for the artist, who recalled hearing it during her childhood through a family connection, long before realizing its cultural impact.
