‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ star Richard Lewis breathes his last at 76
Richard Lewis announced the diagnosis of his Parkinson’s disease in April 2023

Richard Lewis, the comedian who is best known for his role in Curb Your Enthusiasm star, has left the world mourning as he passed away at the age of 76.
His representative Jeff Abraham shared a statement to PEOPLE on Wednesday to confirm the news of his demise.
"Comedian/Actor Richard Lewis passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles last night after suffering a heart attack," the statement read.
It added, "His wife, Joyce Lapinsky, thanks everyone for all the love, friendship and support and asks for privacy at this time."
However, the HBO team also expressed their grief on Lewis’ death, by stating, "We are heartbroken to learn that Richard Lewis has passed away. His comedic brilliance, wit and talent were unmatched.”

The statement continued, “Richard will always be a cherished member of the HBO and Curb Your Enthusiasm families, our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends and all the fans who could count on Richard to brighten their days with laughter."
Lewis shared about his Parkinson’s disease in April 2023 following his private struggles since 2021, he has decided to retire from his comedy career as a consequence, as Deadline first reported the news of his illness.
He had a continuing part in Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm, featuring in over 40 episodes from 2000 to 2021.
Lewis was also recognized for being a regular guest on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Howard Stern Show.
