Akira Toriyama the Manga creator died due due to acute subdural hematoma
Dragon Ball Z creator Akira Toriyama has left the world mourning as he passed away on March 1 at the age of 68.
Toriyama’s death was confirmed on Thursday as the official account of the animated series shared the saddening news on X (former Twitter).
The statement said, “We are deeply saddened to inform you that Manga creator Akira Toriyama passed away on March 1st due to acute subdural hematoma.”
In the shared statement, it is stated that at the time of Toriyama’s demise he “still had several works in the middle of creation with great enthusiasm.”
While reminiscing on his career of 45 years, they expressed, “Thanks to the support of so many people around the world, he has been able to continue his creative activities for over 45 years.”
“We hope that Akira Toriyama's unique world of creation continues to be loved by everyone for a long time to come,” the statement added.
According to the account, Toriyama’s family shared that his private funeral had been done in the presence of “his family and very few relatives.”
The statement also revealed that during their tough time, the family has requested privacy, and also forbore from sending flowers and other presence.
Due to their privacy concerns, they will also not attend any visitors, and make public talks.
Akira Toriyama, the Manga creator’s death is attributed to a battle with subdural hematoma, a disease where blood accumulates between the skull and the surface of the brain.
