A new study has revealed that not brushing teeth at night might increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.

The link between dental diseases and its impact on heart is not new, however, the researchers in Japan found a connection between when individuals brush their teeth and their risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

As per the study, during night, saliva production slows down which makes it less able to wash away bacteria, leading to the buildup of plaque on the teeth and gums.

These plaques can easily enter the bloodstream and not only cause systematic inflammation in the blood vessels but also lead to the buildup of plaque in the arteries.

This is known atherosclerosis and is directly linked to heart attacks, strokes, high blood pressure, aneurysms, peripheral artery disease, and more.

Moreover, one can maintain a good oral regime by brushing their teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing daily, using a soft-bristled toothbrush, and by visit their dentist regularly for checkups and cleanings.

Moreover, eating a balanced diet, and limiting sugary drinks also play a huge role in maintaining a proper dental routine.
