Elisabeth Moss confirms birth of her first child while promoting ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’

Elisabeth Moss has confirmed that she gave birth to her first child, sometime in 2024, and revealed that the baby accompanied her on the set while she worked.

The Handmaid’s Tale star shared that she was “so fortunate” to have her newborn on set with her, as she filmed the sixth and final season of the Hulu series in Vancouver, Canada.

“So many parents cannot,” the actress said about the opportunity to have her baby at work with her.

“Any of us who had the privilege of being able to bring our kids or see our kids at work, we would every single time be like, ‘Aren’t we lucky to get to do that?’” she told The Hollywood Reporter at an event where she was promoting the new season of her show.

The 42-year-old actress, who announced her pregnancy in January 2024 also spoke of the “beautiful synergy” for the comparisons of motherhood between herself and her character on the show, June Osborne.

“This coming together of art and life that was undoubtedly, incredibly meaningful,” she said in the interview which was published on Friday.

“I'm really glad that I got to have this last season playing June with a little bit more of a visceral emotional experience of some of the things that June is talking about or fighting for,” Moss revealed.

Elisabeth Moss, who stars in the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale, which will be released next month, has not yet disclosed the identity of her baby’s father.
