Wyatt Russell recently went viral for his reported appearance at one of the ongoing mass protests against the US Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in LA .

However, the son of veteran actors Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn has now clarified that he was never present at any of the scenes of any protest through his representatives.

Entertainment Weekly confirmed the 38-year-old actor’s statement, whose rep told the outlet that their team “has been working to correct the misinformation.”

Meanwhile, the viral footage which mistakenly identified the Thunderbolts alum in the first place actually featured Aaron Fisher, a partner at the communications agency Statecraft Media.

“Your assault rifles and your sticks? You should be standing here with us,” the man previously misidentified as Russell can be heard telling members of the armed forces deployed at the protest.

As he became aware of the confusion, Fisher also spoke about it with the same publication.

“I found the mix-up to be pretty humorous, and glad it helped to amplify the message,” he told Weekly.

While he further derided the deployment of the National Guard at the protests and described the US government’s handling of the whole situation as “dangerously un-American.”

Wyatt Russell’s misidentification occurred during the mass demonstrations which have currently descended upon the Californian city of Los Angeles, as various people protest against the oppressive practices of ICE against immigrant members of their society.
