Jenna Ortega reveals real reason why she chose 'Wednesday' role
'Wednesday' season 2 will release in two parts this year

Jenna Ortega has finally broken silence on why she chose the script for her breakthrough Netflix series, Wednesday.
Speaking exclusively to The Hollywood Reporter, alongside director, Tim Burton, the 22-year-old actress reflected on her journey portraying the iconic role of Wednesday Addams.
"She’s also one of the few protagonists who is able to get away with that, aside from villains — who tend not to have emotional growth or depth," Ortega began, explaining why she chose the script.
She added, "I actually did an audition for [a Wednesday animated movie] when I was 14, and I didn’t get it. I remember telling my mom, that would be cool to be her, though."
Elsewhere in the interview, the Scream starlet also offered glimpses into filming of the upcoming season, adding that the first two weeks of production had been some of the most stressful moments of her career.
"I don’t think I’ve ever shot a scene in my life that has not kept me up at night and given me nightmares. I can’t watch the stuff that I do because I don’t think I would ever show my face again. I was 17 or 18 when we started this, and I was so nervous and so scared," Ortega shared.
It is worth noting that Wednesday season 2, starring Jenna Ortega, will be released in two parts, with the first part premiering on August 6, 2025, and the second part scheduled for release on September 3, 2025.
