Mariah Carey shares honest thoughts on ageing: 'I don't know time'

Mariah Carey has recently shared her honest take on ageing and explained how she deals with getting older.

The 56-year-old American singer-songwriter spoke to Harper’s Bazaar UK, revealing that she doesn’t limit herself and doesn’t pay attention to age or time.

"I don't allow it – it just doesn't happen. I don't know time," Carey shared.

The All I Want For Christmas Is You hitmaker shared that she doesn’t take numbers seriously and can never acknowledge time, saying, "I have a new song that starts with that line."

Elsewhere in the interview, Carey discussed the importance of being true to oneself and embracing her diva   persona.

"It's part of my job. What's the point of a disguise? Just get up, get dressed, go out. If I don't want to be seen, I'll stay home," the Fantasy songstress pointed out.

In addition, Carey shed light on writing her 2020 memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey, with journalist Michaela Angela Davis.

"Working on it together was challenging, but it was also therapeutic. We stayed up late figuring out how we were going to put the story forth," she recalled.

On the professional front, Mariah Carey is gearing up to release her upcoming album, Here For It All on September 2026.
