As we know Saturday Night Live aka SNL is finally returning in October, bringing back its signature blend of wit, parodies, and captivating humourous sketches.

What is ‘SNL’?

  • The SNL is an American sketch comedy late night television program that is expected to reach a milestone, scheduled to air its 1,000th episode with the new series, starting from October 4, 2025.
  • From the list of celebrity hosts to new Featured Players; here is everything the newly revamped Season 51 is offering:
  • According to NBC, Bad Bunny will host the premiere episode; this will mark the MONACO hitmaker’s second time hosting SNL as he first-ever appeared on the show was a cameo in a 2020 episode.
  • Doja Cat, whose fifth album, Vie, is forthcoming on September 26, will make her first SNL appearance as musical guest.
  • Sabrina Carpenter will take on both the host and musical guest roles on October 18.
  • Within this double move of host and musical guest, the Please Please Please hitmaker will join the ranks of fellow pop queens Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, and Lady Gaga.
  • Notably, Carpenter’s involvement with SNL began in Season 49 when she was Musical Guest in Jake Gyllenhaal's finale.
  • Former cast-member Amy Poehler, who was an SNL cast member for eight seasons from 2001 to 2008, will host on October 11, which will be her third time hosting and second solo gig.
  • ROLE MODEL, whose song Sally, When the Wine Runs Out recently hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart, will perform as musical guest for the first time.
  • Comedian James Austin Johnson will reprise his role as U.S. President Donald Trump.
  • Five new featured players include Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Kam Patterson and Veronika Slowikowska.
  • Moroever, the returning cast-members of the new season are Michael Che, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Marcello Hernandez, James Austin Johnson, Bowen Yang, Colin Jost, Ashley Padilla, Sarah Sherman, Kenan Thompson, Jane Wickline.

It’s worth mentioning here that season 51 of SNL will air Saturdays on NBC, with new episodes available to stream via Peacock the very next day i.e. Sunday.
