From Harry Styles to Oprah: Celebrities who took on the marathon challenge
Find out which Hollywood stars have run a marathon

Running a marathon provides countless benefits to one's cardiovascular health, such as stronger heart and improved circulation, and helps with weight management.
Below are the Hollywood stars who have run a marathon either to fulfill their personal goals or for charity purposes:
Harry Styles
The One Direction former member finished the Berlin Marathon in an impressive time of two hours, 59 minutes, and 13 seconds, which marked his personal best.
Previously, Harry completed the Tokyo Marathon, where his net time came in at around three hours and 24 minutes.
Ryan Reynolds
The Deadpool actor ran the 2008 New York Marathon to raise money for Parkinson’s.
However, Ryan shared that prior to participation, he wasn't necessarily loving the training.
“Why on earth would I wilfully do this? I am not a runner. I am a running joke,” he said.
Proving himself wrong, the actor completed it in an impressive time of three hours and 50 minutes.
Diplo
In 2023, the music producer ran the Los Angeles Marathon in three hours 55 minutes, except he did it while being on LSD (an illegal street drug).
Diplo disclosed the reason for taking the psychedelic drug was because he’d never run that far before.
Oprah Winfrey
The American talk show host ran the Marine Corps Marathon back in 1994 at the age of 40, completing 26.2 miles in four hours and 29 minutes.
Oprah’s personal goal for running was to prove to herself and to other amateur runners that if she could do it, they could too.
Gordon Ramsay
The TV chef is an experienced marathon runner, having completed at least 15 marathons, with his fastest being three hours, 30 minutes, and 37 seconds at the 2004 London Marathon.
Ethan Hawke
The Before Sunrise actor ran the New York Marathon for charity in 2015 alongside his wife, finishing with a time of four hours, 25 minutes, and 30 seconds.
However, Ethan told Stephen Colbert about the challenge of being a famous runner, wishing for anonymity when his legs started to cramp during the race.
