Royal Family set for high-profile US reunion except the Sussex?
The Duke of Sussex is 'set to be iced out' of the reunion
The Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly planning a high-profile trip to the United States in 2026 to join celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary, but, according to reports, the Sussex are not included.
Page Six reported that Prince William and Princess Catherine are expected to travel to the US for the July 4 milestone events.
Multiple sources told the outlet that senior royals are hoping to make a show of unity during what insiders described as a “huge year” for both the UK and the US.
Moreover, King Charles and Queen Camilla will visit the United States next year after an invitation from President Donald Trump.
Will the Duke of Sussex attend the reunion?
The interesting part is that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle live in California; however, Hello! reported the couple is “set to be iced out” of the planned reunion.
The Sussex have lived in the US since stepping back from frontline royal duties in 2020 and are no longer working members of the royal family, factors that, according to insiders, weigh on whether they will be included in official events or not.
Why is the visit planned for July 2026?
The US will mark 250 years of independence on July 4, 2026. Earlier this year, the White House established a task force to plan anniversary events, emphasizing a national program of celebrations and commemorations. A royal presence at selected ceremonies or state functions would carry diplomatic weight and underscore the continued ceremonial ties between the two nations.
What’s still unclear
Details remain under wraps and subject to confirmation. Media reports cite unnamed insiders and ongoing negotiations, but no official statement has been released by Buckingham Palace, the US government, or the White House.
