Victoria Beckham’s brand shaken as David Beckham reveals huge costs

Victoria Beckham’s once glamorous fashion empire faced serious financial trouble and behind the scenes, it created unexpected strain within her marriage to David Beckham.

The 51-year-old star launched her luxury brand in 2008 but the label reportedly sank tens of millions into debt, partly due to extravagant spending, including more than $90,000 per year on plants alone.

When the business hit a breaking point as she turned to husband David for support, a move that proved difficult for both.

He admitted, "For her to say, 'We need some money, the business needs more money,' that was hard for both of us, because I didn't have the money to keep doing this, and eventually I was like, 'This cannot continue.'"

Moreover, in her Netflix docuseries, Victoria Beckham, David reflects on the financial chaos tied to her love for lavish details.

The businessman recalled, "She loved plants and it was costing her £70,000 ($93,000) a year. And then there was someone who was coming to water the plants for £15,000 ($19,000) a year and that's only the beginning!"

David Beckham revealed that trying to stabilise the brand was one of the toughest challenges he’d ever faced. "So I went to her and I decided to just tell the truth, exactly the way it is and I didn't know how she'd react. I said, 'Victoria, we have to change everything, restructure the business and that's gonna be painful.'"
