50 Cent responds to critics over Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Netflix series
50 Cent hit back at claims that his involvement stems from personal animosity
50 Cent has addressed critics questioning his role in producing a new Sean “Diddy” Combs docuseries for Netflix, despite the two rappers’ long-standing feud.
The four-part documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, directed by Alexandria Stapleton, is set to explore what it describes as the “real Sean Combs.” The series arrives as Combs faces a four-year prison sentence on prostitution-related charges.
Speaking with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America on Monday, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, tackled claims that his involvement stems from personal animosity rather than a desire to give Combs’ alleged victims a platform.
“What they consider pre-existing beef for 20 years is me being uncomfortable with him suggesting that he takes me shopping,” 50 Cent said.
“I looked at it like it was a tester, like maybe you’ll come play with me type thing. It’s not personal,” he added.
He went on to emphasize that his interest in the project was never rooted in malice. Instead, he says the series sheds light on issues that the public may not fully understand.
