Colombian singer-songwriter makes a comeback with new anthem for ‘Zootopia 2’ movie
Shakira recently dished out exciting details about a song in a new movie, Zootopia 2.
The Colombian singer-songwriter, who voices Gazelle character, made a comeback with a new anthem titled Zoo for the leading protagonist.
Elaborating on the songwriting process for the sequel, Shakira revealed that the production team wanted it to have that “universal message”.
Waka Waka hit-maker pointed out that the song is “about stopping and taking a moment to lean on each other and enjoy the moment” amid hectic times.
Shakira told Variety that the song, which is written by Ed Sheeran and Blake Slatkin, drew inspiration from Latin pop.
Hips Don’t Lie singer further said, “Every detail of the song, the writing, the production, the lyrics, and the arrangement, was crafted consciously and carefully.”
While speaking about the song, Shakira admitted she tried to “channel Gazelle and think about the message that lives within the movie, and what the song should represent in the movie”.
Before concluding, the songstress stated, “The morals in this movie are timeless and I hope that the song reflects that.”
“As an ambassador of my own culture, I felt that this song was a reflection of that too,” she added.
Meanwhile, Zootopia 2 is running in theatres now.
