Zayn Malik reveals daughter Khai's feedback on music

Zayn Malik has opened up about the unique role his five-year-old daughter, Khai, plays in his creative process as he prepares for his latest musical release.

In a recent interview with SiriusXM’s The Pulse on Wednesday, the 33-year-old singer shared that his daughter is an enthusiastic fan who frequently offers her own critiques.

Malik explained that while he avoids playing tracks with "adult concepts" or "cuss words," Khai has developed a specific system to judge his work. "She loves my music, and she definitely gives me an opinion," he remarked.

"She does this thing where she does like thumbs up, thumbs down, thumb sideways, and if you get a thumbs up and a thumb sideways, it means it’s pretty good."

The former One Direction star, who shares Khai with supermodel Gigi Hadid, noted that his daughter is beginning to grasp his status as a public figure. "I think, you know, she’s five. She has some concept of it," Malik said.

He described how she occasionally "flexes" the fact that her father is a singer, even if she does not yet understand "the full extent" of his global stardom.

This candid glimpse into their domestic life comes as Malik promotes his highly anticipated new project. Having previously explored various genres since his solo debut, he continues to balance his career with a focused approach to fatherhood.

His latest album, Konnakol, is scheduled for international release on 17 April 2026, featuring a collection of songs that have already faced Khai's rigorous approval process.
