British singer Raye has sparked intense speculation regarding the next James Bond theme following a viral interview at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

During the Los Angeles event on Wednesday, presenter Smallzy questioned the "Where Is My Husband?" hitmaker about persistent rumours linking her to the 007 franchise.

Raye appeared visibly flustered, hesitating before responding to the inquiry. "I don’t know what to say, I’m nervous," she admitted, before attempting to clarify her reaction.

"No, there’s no rumour, now I’m going red, and it looks like there is a rumour. No, there’s no rumour," she added.

Despite her denial, the exchange gained significant traction after Smallzy captioned a clip on Instagram asking if the artist had accidentally "given away" her involvement in the project.

While Raye maintains that no official agreement is in place, she confirmed her enthusiasm for the role, stating that her "inbox is open" should producers approach her.

However, she faces stiff competition from fellow artist Olivia Dean, who remains the even-money favourite according to bookmakers William Hill.

Following a successful sweep at the BRIT Awards earlier in March, Dean’s momentum has resonated strongly with both fans and bettors.

Spokesperson Lee Phelps remarked that after being "crowned the UK’s new queen of pop," it was no surprise that Dean is widely expected to soundtrack Bond’s next cinematic outing.

As the search for the next musical voice of the franchise continues, Raye’s recent chart-topping success and versatile vocal range keep her firmly within the public conversation.

Raye has enjoyed a record-breaking year, recently performing a sold-out show at the Royal Albert Hall with a full orchestra.

Beyond the Bond speculation, she is currently preparing for a series of international festival appearances throughout the summer of 2026.

Her rise to independence as a solo artist has made her one of the most sought-after collaborators in the global music industry today.
