Disney’s live-action remake of ‘Tangled’ locks in main cast: Teagan Croft, Milo Manheim to lead
Teagan Croft cast as Rapunzel with Milo Manheim playing Flynn Rider in live-action ‘Tangled’
The live-action adaptation of Disney’s Tangled has found its main leads in Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim.
Croft, a relatively new actress from Australia, will play the blonde haired heroine Rapunzel in the remake.
While Manheim, best known for Disney’s Zombies film series, has been cast as the swashbuckling enthusiast turned thief, Flynn Rider.
Australian director Michael Gracey, behind musical hits like Rocketman and The Greatest Showman, will helm the project which is also set to feature “big musical elements”, per The Hollywood Reporter.
It was further reported that the newly announced cast was assembled after a unique campaign by Disney, which included the launch of “lanterns into the sky in the US and the UK to find the feature project’s leads.”
The finalists had screen tests in London just ahead of the winter holidays, back in December 2025.
Still pending is the major casting for the film’s primary antagonist, Mother Gothel, whom Scarlett Johansson was attached to play at one point.
The live-action Tangled, based on the animated 2010 release by Disney, has not yet confirmed a release schedule.
