Bethenny Frankel has opened up about a bacterial infection she contracted while vacationing in St. Barths, which has permanently changed how she travels.

In a TikTok shared on January 15, the 55-year-old reality star explained that the facial rash she recently revealed was caused by bacteria likely picked up from hotel towels.

Frankel clarified that the infection was not sexually transmitted, addressing online speculation sparked by her earlier posts.

“I had a bacterial infection from towels,” Frankel said, noting that towels and sheets can retain bacteria even after being cleaned.

She added that her daughter was the first to recognize the symptoms, having experienced something similar in the past.

Frankel criticized hotel laundering practices, claiming linens often sit in unsanitary bins before washing.

Citing advice from her dermatologist and facialist, she said that even well-cleaned towels can still harbor bacteria, comparing them to makeup sponges and brushes.

As a result, Frankel said she will “never, ever” use hotel towels or sheets again.

When a follower asked how she plans to travel going forward, she replied that she is “researching” alternatives.

The update follows a viral January 4 Instagram post in which Frankel shared photos of the rash and confirmed she had cut her trip short due to the infection.
