Bella Hadid has revealed deliberately pushing herself far outside her comfort zone for her acting role in FX’s upcoming series The Beauty.

While speaking at the show’s New York City premiere on January 14, the 29-year-old model revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she told the creator Ryan Murphy she wanted a raw, unglamorous transformation.

“I said, ‘Ryan, I want you to make me look haggard,’” Hadid shared, explaining she never wanted to play the “girl next door.”

Hadid said the role demanded a different version of herself, both physically and emotionally.

She described embracing intense scenes and stunt work despite being naturally non-confrontational.

“He pushed me to be a different version of myself,” she said. “That’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”

The Orabella founder admitted she felt nervous about her performance but hopes audiences will see her effort to fully commit to the character.

Hadid attended the premiere at the Museum of Modern Art wearing a red Schiaparelli gown, a sharp contrast to her on-screen appearance in the series.

The Beauty, co-created by Murphy, centers on a dangerous miracle drug that promises effortless perfection.
