Teyana Taylor’s daughter Rue sweetly helps mom with gown on 2026 Actor Awards red carpet
Taylor shares daughter Rue with her ex-husband Iman Shumpert
Teyana Taylor brought both glamour and heart to the 2026 Actor Awards on Sunday (March 1), with a little help from her daughter, Rue Rose Shumpert, 5.
The One Battle After Another star, 35, stunned in a grey-and-white Thom Browne gown featuring a small train, an anatomical torso constructed from over 160 pattern pieces, and a skirt adorned with 400,000 sequins and 175,000 beads.
Taylor complemented the look with sparkling diamond jewelry — but it was Rue who stole the spotlight in an unforgettable red carpet moment.
In front of photographers, Rue carefully helped lay out her mom’s train before taking her hand to walk the carpet and pose for pictures.
The little one looked adorable in a knee-length pink skirt paired with a blue-and-white cardigan.
Taylor, who is also mom to 10-year-old Iman “Junie” Shumpert Jr., shares Rue with her ex-husband Iman Shumpert.
This year’s Actor Awards, hosted by Kristen Bell, introduced a dress code for the first time in 31 years, themed “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour from the ’20s and ’30s,” drawing inspiration from an era of cinematic elegance.
Taylor is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her role as revolutionary group leader Perfidia Beverly Hills in One Battle After Another.
The Paul Thomas Anderson-directed film is also up for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
Earlier this awards season, Taylor won Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes for the same role.
Speaking with PEOPLE in February, she shared that she isn’t overthinking her Oscars speech this year, choosing instead to stay grounded and enjoy the experience.
“I’m having just a good time. Having fun and staying grounded, that’s so important for me,” Taylor said. “Win or lose, to have this moment feels amazing. I feel like I already won spiritually, mentally, emotionally.”
