Colton Underwood teases future electrician in toddler son Bishop
Colton and husband Jordan C. Brown reflect on the joys and challenges of surrogacy parenthood
Colton Underwood is finding fatherhood full of surprises—and a little spark.
The 34-year-old Traitors US star revealed that his 16-month-old son, Bishop, might have a bright future as an electrician. Bishop, whom Colton shares with his husband, political strategist Jordan C. Brown, has developed an amusing obsession with light switches.
“Currently, he’s obsessed with light switches,” Colton told People. “So yeah, I don’t know if he’s going to be a future electrician or what we got going on, but he loves light switches.”
Despite the messiness of toddlerhood, including growing molars and endless drool, Colton described Bishop as “my human Xanax. He’s a breath of fresh air, lights up every room.”
The couple welcomed Bishop via gestational surrogacy in September 2024, just over a year after their three-day wedding celebration at Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa Valley, California. Sharing the joy of their new addition on Instagram, they wrote: “Our world is a million times better with you in it. Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood. September 26th, 2024.”
Parenthood, however, was not without its challenges. Jordan candidly shared in 2025 that their surrogacy journey was “a really weird mix of miracle and capitalism,” navigating legal contracts to ensure Bishop would be theirs from the moment of birth.
Reflecting on the experience, Colton previously told People: “We both wanted to be dads… figuring out next steps and stages was sort of a mystery to us until it wasn’t. Nobody talks about this. There’s no resources, there’s no books, there’s no guide. You sort of get tossed into the fire.”
Now, with Bishop growing fast and lighting up every room—sometimes literally—Colton and Jordan are embracing the unpredictable joys of parenthood, one light switch at a time.
