Jimmy Fallon recalls 'tightest perm' that made his mother cry
Jimmy Fallon’s free university hairstyle became a family 'horror story'
The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon and NFL icon Tom Brady shared a series of lighthearted personal revelations regarding their past fashion choices during the Tuesday episode.
The 51-year-old comedian recalled a particularly disastrous university hairstyle that left his mother in tears after he accepted a free "body wave" from a student stylist.
Unaware that the process would result in a permanent treatment, Fallon described the makeshift mayhem of being placed under a heat lamp.
“She took out the rollers, and I had the tightest perm I've ever seen in my life,” he admitted, confirming that while photos of the incident exist, his mother was not consoled by the fact that the service was free.
Brady, 48, sympathised with the host by noting that his own childhood bowl cuts met with similar maternal disapproval.
“My mom used to cry when I would come home with haircuts,” the seven-time Super Bowl champion remarked while reflecting on a throwback photograph of his younger self.
The conversation transitioned from nostalgic grooming errors to Brady’s impending return to the pitch for the Fanatics Flag Football Classic on 21 March.
The retired quarterback also addressed the possibility of participating in the 2028 Olympics, where flag football will make its debut. Although he conceded that a competitive return is "probably unlikely," he expressed a keen interest in supporting the next generation of athletes.
Regarding a potential Team USA appearance, he suggested that an advisory role as a coach would be better suited for him, as he would prefer to let younger players like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen attempt to win a gold medal for the U.S.
