Expert reveals how eating eggs daily for 14 days transforms brain health
Dr Saurabh Sethi explains how choline in eggs supports memory and focus
Eggs are nutritionally dense foods rich in protein that support growth and muscle development. Although many people question if daily consumption stresses the metabolism, expert insights suggest significant benefits.
Dr Saurabh Sethi listed several effects of eating eggs for 14 days, noting that “In many people, eggs can actually increase HDL (high-density lipoprotein), the good cholesterol.”
- The brain can benefit: Eggs provide choline to create acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter “important for memory and focus.”
- Cholesterol profile can improve: Frequent consumption helps balance lipids rather than damaging them.
- Eyes get better nutritional support: Yolks contain lutein and zeaxanthin which “support eye health.”
- Improve skin health: High levels of sulphur-containing amino acids assist in producing keratin.
Many individuals prefer whites due to a fear of fat. However, Dr Alok Chopra explained that “The yolk, in particular, has been blamed because of its cholesterol content, but it actually holds most of the egg’s nutrients.”
He further clarified that “Compared to egg whites, the yolk provides far more vitamin A, vitamin E, and omega-3 fatty acids.”
Egg whites, on their own, are considered an inflammatory protein. For those seeking alternatives, soy-based foods like tofu or edamame are the closest equivalents.
Cholesterol remains widely misunderstood, yet as Dr Chopra noted, “It’s essential for cell structure, hormone production, brain function, and a healthy immune system.”
Consuming the whole egg ensures the body receives a complete, non-inflammatory food source.
